CVA are recognised as the largest ‘hands on’ environmental organisation in Australia. With over 250 staff and 20 offices around the nation, CVA facilitates more conservation related volunteer days than any other group.

When CVA approached Alliance they were struggling to control their workflow, using a basic Microsoft Access database and a range of inconsistent spreadsheets.


Alliance has worked with CVA over many years, developing and refining a system that streamlines their business processes.

The system has been built to service a wide variety of users’ needs. Some of these include:

  • Regional Managers manage volunteer logistics and the application of government funding;

  • National Managers are able to balance demand for services with local staffing levels and the compliance requirements;

  • Finance and administration staff.


Technically, the system represents over 5000 hours of effort and the CVA now rely heavily on the project and volunteer management system.

This deployment has both significantly streamlined CVA’s operations and allowed the organisation to create key partnerships with major travel agency groups around the world, who now use the platform to make direct bookings through the system.
