Would you like to be a Programming Tutor?

The Role

I have an 11-year old son, Oscar, who loves everything computers. He’s very geeky and has started to become reasonable at programming. I’m looking to hire someone to spendĀ  1 1/2 hours a week to sit with him and help him with his programming.

Your Experience

We imagine you’d be currently studying Computer Science. At the moment Oscar is primarily focused on Visual Basic and he would like to learn C#. It also wouldn’t hurt to have an abundance of patience and familiarity with interacting with kids. Be aware he’s chatty, but super keen and motivated to learn.

Payment

$30 per hour ($45 per 1 1/2 hour session)

When

We’re happy to negotiate an early evening time frame on any school night (Mon-Thurs) that suits both parties. We’re willing to begin this over the school holidays or to start it next year at the beginning of Term 1.

Where

The location isĀ  at our house in Mitcham, a 5 minute walk from Heatherdale train station.

How to Apply

If you’re interested please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Oscar’s Tutor”. Include a couple of paragraphs on your background and how you got into programming. Also indicate your availability and when you would be able to start.
