The Role & Benefits
What professional skills do you need to get the job?
Business Analysis – capacity to convert a user’s requirements into a logical set of instructions for a developer to build. This can include considering both interface layouts as well as data structures.
Tech Savvy – you’ll have a reasonable understanding of software development.
Scope & Budget Management – this one is tough (even for pro’s), but you’ll be up for the challenge of managing a scope of work to keep it within a budget. You’ll relate well to clients, be friendly but firm and good at managing expectations.
What personal skills do you need to get the job?
Friendly – no jerks please, you’ll be generally likeable.
Well Organised – you’ll be good with details.
High Emotional Intelligence – most of our clients are great, but when the need arises you’ll be able to work with life’s more challenging characters.
Curiosity – the changing world of technology will interest you, not scare you.
Ownership – you’ll take ownership of issues and see your projects through.
Alliance Software values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer
70K base and $50/hour paid overtime plus super.
How does paid overtime work?
Yep – this is unusual. Everyone here gets automatic paid overtime. You’ll be expected to work a minimum 6.5 productive hours per day. If you do more, you’ll be paid overtime monthly.
For example, assume you work an average of 8 productive hours per day – you would earn $16,875 in overtime payments ($50 per hour x 1.5 hours x 5 days x 45 weeks at work per year). This would take your salary to $86,875 + super (or gross $93K).
Please note – overtime requests are rare, but there’s typically plenty to be done if you want to. You can do as many or as few bonus hours as you like (current staff really like this).
Working with us
Alliance Software is a custom web and mobile application development business. We’re also the founder of two successful tech startups. We have an engaged customer base of well funded startups and mid tier corporates.
The one common groan is that we require staff to fill in time cards via an online system. This lets us pay overtime and track time worked on projects.
We’ve done a quick video with a walk around the office if you’d like to get a look at the place.

A quick walk around our offices...
Alliance Software is a software development firm with a long history spanning back to 1999. Software developers at heart, we have evolved to now offer end to end strategy and design services as well.
With all of our clients we work very closely, looking for every opportunity to improve their businesses and in many cases shape their businesses. We are big proponents of the Lean Startup methodology and we often assist our clients in understanding and testing their assumptions.
We are a relaxed yet hard working firm. We are highly loyal to both our staff and clients and as a result gain a high level of trust. We are friendly and have an open door policy. We value our staff’s time and pay for overtime.
Over recent years we have been growing our design capabilities and this has proved wildly successful. Combining our nerdy developers with talented UX & visual designers has proved invaluable to our clients.
