Development Process

The following provides an outline of the order in which we typically complete tasks when developing your web site.

  • Quote - We submit a quote to you outlining the features of the site, it's cost and the expected development timelines.

  • Site Structure & Graphic Design Brief - Through a process of e-mails and phone conversations we will agree on a structure for the site. During this time we’ll determine what the primary pages are and how the navigation will work.

In addition, we will create a ‘brief’ for the graphic designers. This will contain a short written description of the image you wish to convey to visitors and a list of three or more sample web sites that you feel have good design. For each of these sites, you will briefly note what design features you admire.
  • Graphic Design Creation - Using the site structure and design brief developed above and with reference to any corporate logos and color schemes, the graphics for the site are developed and submitted for review.

  • Content Gathering - Simultaneously with the above graphics creation, you'll be expected to to collect or create the documentation that will be used as the text of the site. You'll need to supply us with this documentation as a Microsoft Word document or in a well laid out email. Please note, unless otherwise agreed, it's your responsibility to create the content of your web site.

  • Hosting & Domain Name Coordination – Again, simultaneously with the above, Alliance Software will ensure the site’s hosting and domain registration are in order.

  • Site Creation - The technical development work is completed and the site is created.

  • Testing - A critical part of the development process is testing of the site by you. You will have the project delivered to you and we'll agree on an allocated amount of time for testing the application. You must set aside time to do system testing to ensure you're 100% happy with the product that has been delivered.

  • Documentation Creation - Where agreed as part of the development contract, we will produce documentation to assist you with the use of your system.

  • Training – If it's a part of your development contract, we'll conduct training for your web site.
